Visit the three imposing capitals of the former Hapsburg
Empire on a cultural journey to the Imperial cities of
Prague, Vienna and Budapest. Central Europe is adorned
with breathtaking natural scenery and historical and artistic
treasures, combined with its rich, thriving folk traditions
and heritage it is no wonder this area is a popular holiday
destination. Your first stop is the "Golden City"
of Prague, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe
with its gleaming spires and majestic towers. A tour of
the city highlights its stunning architecture and royal
past. Stroll across the 6th century Charles Bridge, where
the silhouettes of the statues hover like ghosts. Walk
along the narrow winding streets of Old Town Square and
visit Prague Castle, the largest ancient castle in the
world. After a scenic ride through the countryside, you'll
arrive in regal Vienna, with its opulent palaces, breathtaking
churches and famous Vienna Opera. The City offers many
reminders of its imperial past. Then onto the stunning
city of Budapest, where the historic blends with the modern
and the hills frame the graceful curves of the Danube
River which flows through the city. Take a boat ride to
the Danube bend where magnificent landscape unfolds itself
before you. Visit Fishermen's Bastion, Mathias Church
and historic Old Buda. This center of medieval Hungary,
with its abundance of historical artifacts, monuments
and stunning scenery, will bring an end to this remarkable
cultural tour. |

Day 1 _Flight & Arrival in Prague
Start your journey with a panoramic tour of Prague,
preceded with an afternoon excursion to Prague Castle.
In the evening a special welcome dinner awaits. Sample
the local cuisine while being entertained with traditional
folk dance and local music.
Day 2 Prague
There is no doubt that the magnificent Gothic and Baroque
architecture inspired some of the world’s greatest
artists. Your day begins with a walking tour of this
fairy tale city. The tour features landmarks such as
the National Theater, Belvedere, Charles Bridge, St.
Vitus Cathedral, and the old Town Hall with the unique
astronomical clock. After lunch you will visit Nelahozeves
Castle, an important historical building which contains
precious paintings by Bruegel, Canaletto and others.
The day ends with a sensuous wine tasting event.
Day 3 & 4 Prague - Vienna
You board a luxury coach for transfer to Vienna. In
the afternoon, you will be taken on a panoramic city
tour .The following day you are free to explore the
City on your own. Why not start your sightseeing with
a trip to Prater amusement park with its giant Ferris
wheel, and the ultra-modern United Nations City on the
banks of the Danube River. Then perhaps stroll along
Ring Boulevard, pass the State Opera House and stop
at famous Heldenplatz for a picture of the Hofburg Palace,
winter residence of the Austrian Imperial Family. In
the Old Town, see the synagogue and visit St. Stephen’s
Cathedral. Take time to watch the famous midday parade
of historical figures at the musical Anker Clock.
*Optional excursions can be arranged to Schönbrunn
Palace, home to the Habsburg dynasty for more than 200
years, or enjoy a special cruise on the Danube River
and the wine village of Grinzing, or a visit to magical
Vienna woods, or a Classical music concert featuring
the works of the great composers.
Day 5 & 6 Vienna – Budapest
Your day begins with a drive through the picturesque
countryside to Budapest, often referred to as the Paris
of Eastern Europe. On arrival you will enjoy a panoramic
tour of the city. The next day a local guide explains
the history and sights of this most cosmopolitan of
cities. From the lacy lookout towers of Fishermen’s
Bastion enjoy a panoramic view of the sprawling city,
home to more than one-fifth of the Hungarian population.
The 13th-century Matthias Coronation Church, the Citadel
on Mount Gellert, and Heroe’ Square are also on
the agenda. In the afternoon you are free to explore
the city on your own or return to the hotel to relax.
Day 7 Budapest, the Danube
Enjoy a full day excursion to the Danube Bend, where
the river is forced between the hills and turns to the
South, revealing beautiful vistas. You will also visit
Esztergom, with its Cathedral, the largest church in
the country. Rebuilt in the 19th century in Classical
style, it has the largest altar-piece in the world.
Then it’s on to Visegrad, to visit the Main Street,
Solomon Tower and the Castle on the top of the hill.
The latter offers a wonderful view of the Danube Bend.
Also included are visits to Szentendre, with its colorful
houses and narrow alleyways and the Kovacs Margit Ceramic
Museum, with its charming ceramic figures.
The evening concludes with a special farewell dinner
and Folklore show.
