A guided tour of the Wimbledon
Lawn Tennis grounds and museum, offers a unique glimpse
of how the original medieval real tennis has now become
a multi-million dollar professional sport, played all
over the world. A tour of the grounds include: No. 1
Court, Wimbledon's new show court; a walk up 'Henman
Hill' to the spectacular Water Gardens, which features
a breathtaking view of Central London; and finally on
to Centre Court, which captures the true atmosphere
of the Wimbledon experience. The Museum includes memorabilia
from many famous players and includes a state of the
art audio/visual Theatre showing highlights of great
players in action.
Visit magnificent Hampton Court Palace. Tennis was
played on this site by Henry VIII from 1528. With the
installation of sodium halide lighting, the court is
the best lit in Great Britain and possibly anywhere.
Set in sixty acres of world famous gardens, the Palace
is a living tapestry of history from Henry VIII to George
II. You will be taken back through the centuries to
experience the Palace as it was when royalty was in
residence, from the elegance of the eighteenth century
Privy Garden to the domestic reality of the Tudor Kitchens.
